| I’d like to send shout outs and congratulations to our (Detroit) winners at the Chicago 2008 World’s Largest Steppin Contest on Saturday, September 20, 2009. Drew Alexander and Sherry Gordon won first place and James Pacely and LaKeesha Anderson were second place winners. I was there and let me tell you the performances given by these two couples were truly awesome. James and LaKeesha were up first, they did a over the head wrap around matrix type move that took my breath away with awesomeness, people in the crowd literally jumped up out of their seats at the end of their performance. I was like whoa, yes, yes, yes! I can’t wait until the video becomes available, you've got to see this move. Then came Drew and Sherry, well I knew that these two were going to show out and true to form they did. They also had the crowd out of their seats with their outstanding performance. Actually the only time I observed the crowd up and out their seats were during these two performances. In my opinion, we should have won the top prizes. All the contestants from Detroit, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Los Angles, Chicago etc. did well and were a joy to watch. I was really happy to see all the familiar faces from Detroit and Toledo. I like to add congratulations to Toledo for competing in the contest as well. Congratulations are certainly in order for Candace Hinton of Flint Michigan for winning first place in the Trio category with partners Anthony (Tykman) Allan and Margaret (Lady Margaret) Fisher of Chicago. I was pleased yet again to see Detroit's own R& B recording artist, Kjon in the house singing and doing his thing. Big up to dancers Noah, Keisha & Farrnell who performed with Kjon, loved the routine guys. I was looking forward to seeing and hearing Marcel & The Truth perform they did not, and I did not find out the 411 on that. I would like to thank T. Pratt, ( my idol) Andre Blackwell, Pete Frazier, Donny Davis & instructors), Sunshine, Snoop, Cynthia Bean ( sorry the picture did not come out after all) and all the other wonderful people of Chicago that I had the pleasure of meeting this weekend for making my visit a truly memorable occasion.
